In October of 2023, I got the devastating news that I had small cell lung cancer. Small cell cancer has a very poor prognosis overall, so we knew my time was limited. I had already lost my husband in 2019.
My only wish on my "to-do" list before I passed was to have all of my children and grandchildren together for one last vacation at our favorite Florida beach, Perdido Key.
Thanks to the generosity of my coworkers and the marvelous care and generosity of CourtStrong, my wish became a reality!
All three of my children and all five of my grandchildren spent a week in a fabulous four-bedroom, four-bathroom beachfront condo with its own private poolside cabana! We paid for nothing but spending money for souvenirs. It was truly memorable and something to cling to during dark times.
